Ethics Statements Analysis
The following paper is an analysis of the Ethics statements from the National Association of Certified Professional Midwives. It is meant to answer the following questions:
1) How does your chosen ethical document—in its totality—represent/address the four broad ethical principles of respect for autonomy, nonmaleficence, beneficence, and justice?
2) Can you identify any weaknesses or limitations of your chosen ethical document?
3) Choose three MANA core competency statements that you believe relate to ethical considerations in the practice of midwifery. How does your chosen ethical document help you to understand and fulfill these three MANA core competencies?

Reflection
Ethics became one of my favorite courses at MCU. Being empowered by the knowledge gained over the course of this class has enabled me to better articulate the values I hold so dear. I learned so much the reviewing the ethics statements made by the NACPM. I plan to align myself with professional organizations for the betterment of midwifery as a whole. The exercise taught me to thoroughly examine the organizations to be confident that I am in agreement with their principle before lending my support to them. The NACPM has started a pilot program for state Chapters "to create a powerful and unifying voice for all Certified Professional Midwives." I hope to network with other midwives to open a chapter in my home state.
